From travelers:

• Email address (when you sign up for our free guide or newsletter)
• Name and contact details (when you submit an enquiry to a hotel through a listing page)
• Basic analytics data (pages visited, general location, device type) via Google Analytics and Vercel Analytics
• Cookies (see Section 5)

From hotels and business partners:

• Business name, contact name, email, WhatsApp/phone number (via our Founding Partner or listing forms)
• Property details you provide for your listing (description, photos, amenities)

2. How We Use Your Data

Traveler data:

• To send you the free Zanzibar guide and occasional relevant updates (you can unsubscribe anytime)
• To forward your enquiry details (name, contact, requested dates) directly to the hotel you're enquiring about, so they can respond to you
• To understand site usage and improve Huru (aggregated, anonymized analytics)

Hotel/partner data:

• To create and manage your listing on Huru
• To contact you about your account, performance updates, or partnership opportunities
• To forward traveler enquiries relevant to your property

We do not sell your data to third parties.

3. Sharing Your Data

• Travelers: when you submit an enquiry, your name, contact details, and requested dates are shared directly with the relevant hotel so they can respond to you. We are not responsible for how the hotel subsequently handles that data once received.
• Hotels: your business and listing information is displayed publicly on your Huru listing page, as intended for visibility to travelers.
• We use third-party service providers (Mailchimp for email, Google Analytics and Vercel for site analytics) who process data on our behalf under their own privacy terms.

4. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as necessary to provide our services or as required by law. You can request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us.

5. Cookies

We use cookies for essential site functionality and analytics. If you're located in the EU/EEA or another region requiring consent, you'll see a cookie consent banner on first visit.

6. Your Rights
